| How I Started Collecting: | I first purchased some Holiday barbies for my boyfriends daughters and then decided I would start collecting, since I loved Barbie as a little girl. I went to my parents house and found my old United Barbie friendship airplane and cleaned it up. As I searched online I found the Barbie collector site and joined the Fan club. From there I was invited to the Chicago convention cocktail party for Fan Club Members, I got a free doll, food and after that, I was hooked.

| My Collection: | My collection is mainly AA, with other's that I like. in 2010 I started collecting red heads. I've always like silkstones and the Holiday Barbies. I do have a Crissy, Mia, Velvet and Tessie doll too. |
| Favorite Dolls: | My favorites are Tatu, Cher with the purple dress, Indigo Obsession, the 2007 AA Hard Rock Cafe Barbie, Sunday's Best and Pretty in Pleats (because my mom bought them for me). My most prized two are: Tangerine Twist and Uptown Chic, because Kitty Perkins signed them in 2006. I like all of my dolls, but if I had to pick a few, these would be the ones. |
| Suggestion to New Collectors: | Pick a Genre and stick to it. Make sure you have space to display and keep your collection under 200 & manageable. Collect only what you like, keep a list of what they are and what you paid for them. |
| Other Collector News to Share: | Since I'm not really a deboxer, I've learned to buy one to keep boxed and others to debox. If you are not buying to resell, it doesn't matter if you don't have the entire series only pick what you want. Joining a club is the best thing in the world, you learn so much for fellow club members. It's fun to have others that appreciate the same things you do, even if it is a DOLL! |
