Once upon a time...

The first official club meeting was held on the 3rd Sunday of June in 1989 in a doll shop owned by Kim Masa of Dunwoody, GA.  The club was formed with the intentions of hosting the convention and sharing the love of Barbie collecting.  The 1-year anniversary was celebrated at Collectors United sponsored by Gary Green.  The original club name was the Atlanta Barbie Collectors (ABC).  After Mattel implemented restrictions on the use of Barbie in club names, the club was renamed and is now known as The Atlanta Doll Collectors.
